Privatpraxis für Handchirurgie und Handgelenkchirurgie
About us!
Hand surgery is a speciality which arose due to the needs of World War II, when it became obvious that it would be ideal to have only one surgeon specifically trained in all special fields of traumatized hands rather than calling in one surgeon to repair the broken bones, another one for the tendon, another for the vessels and another to repair the nerves.
Thus, the field of hand surgery has been created. The hand surgeon focuses his attention in this special area and learns everything the speciality has to offer.
As a hand surgeon, Dr. Kirsten Beyermann is trained in techniques of plastic, orthopaedic, neuro-, micro vascular and reconstructive surgery for all of the soft tissues of the upper extremity and the bones of the hand and wrist as well as in wrist arthroscopy and endoscope carpal tunnel treatment. After graduation, she continued her education as a general surgeon and further as orthopaedic surgeon. She went on to a complete fellowship in hand surgery under the advice of Prof. Dr. Ulrich Lanz (one of the internationally recognized hand surgeons) at the Bad Neustadt Hand Center/Germany. Since 2001, she practices as a self-employed specialist of hand surgery in Frankfurt/Main.
Dr. Kirsten Beyermann is a member of the German Society of Hand Surgery as well as of the German language related Board of Hand Surgery.
She offers a multidisciplinary approach to patient care including medical and surgical treatment and hand rehabilitation services. She collaborates closely with hand therapists, board-certified by the fellowship, so that your care is carefully co-ordinated and individualized.
